As well as announcing the new Surface Laptop 2, Microsoft has also unveiled new Surface Headphones equipped with 40mm free-edge speaker drivers and a rechargeable battery that is capable of providing up to 15 hours of battery life as well as “hassle-free pairing” says Microsoft. The headphones will also feature quick charge technology allowing users to receive 16 minutes of playback from just a five-minute charge, with a full charge taking two hours to provide the full 15 hours once again. The new Surface headphones are also equipped with 4 microphones for noise cancellation and 4 beam forming microphones for voice detection enabling the headset to support Microsoft’s Cortana personal assistant and also offer noise cancelling performance for those crowded planes, trains and automobiles. The new Surface headphones support up to 30 db of active noise cancellation or up to 40 db of passive noise cancellation.
