It seems that Microsoft has given-up on its Surface Pro 2 tablets and has quietly stopped taking orders via its online store, according to reports by the Neowin website.
Back in June of this year Microsoft dropped the price of its Surface Pro 2 tablet by as much as $200 with the 64GB model which previously retails for $899 is now available for $799.
Unfortunately if you were still considering purchasing a Microsoft Surface Pro 2 you might have to look to other sources other than the official Microsoft online store. Even though the Surface Pro 2 is still listed on the Microsoft website pressing the “Buy Now“ button just takes you through to a product is no longer available splash screen.
To re-cap the Surface Pro 2 tablet is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor with 4 or 8GB of RAM and comes come equipped with a 10.6-inch ClearPixel display offering a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Its also equipped with a 5 megapixel rear camera for photos and videos with a 3.5 megapixel front-facing camera for video conferencing and was as you might expect supplied running Microsoft’s latest Windows 8.1 operating system.At the current time Microsoft has not announced any official indication as to whether Surface Pro 2 sales have stopped for good or just temporarily.
