Microsoft is apparently in the process of another acquisition with an apparent $100 million purchase of calender app maker Sunrise.
Sunrise makes a range of calendar applications for both mobile and desktop, and the apps connect calendars from different sources, the apps are available for Android and iOS and also the Mac, plus there is a web based version as well.
Microsoft is expected to use the technology in its office range of apps, but at the same time continue to make the apps available as stand along products. This is something that Microsoft did recently when they purchased email startup Acompli.
Microsoft has purchased a number of companies recently and then integrated these products into their Office suite of software which is now multi-platform.
