Makerbot the 3D printer manufacturer that is responsible for the Replicator 3D printer range has this week launched a new iPad application in the form of MakerBot PrintShop.
MakerBot PrintShop has been designed to enable owners of Makerbot 3D printers to be able to easily create 3D models using a more simplified set of tools on their iPad, rather than having to use a fully fledged CAD package.
The new MakerBot PrintShop iPad App is equipped with a number of features including Type Maker for creating, signs, letters, name plates, and more. As well as the self explanatory Bracelet Maker and Explore that allows users to access a selection of handpicked designs from the Thingiverse community. MakerBot explains a little more:
“Create 3D designs without a learning curve with our easy-to use-tablet application, and wirelessly prepare your models for 3D printing on your Fifth Generation MakerBot Printer.
MakerBot PrintShop also gives you the ability to monitor your prints using your MakerBot Replicator 3D Printer’s onboard camera. You can also use MakerBot PrintShop to pause prints, cancel prints, and start the filament swapping and extruder attachment processes.”
The new MakerBot PrintShop iPad App is now available to download for free from the and is compatible with the range of Makerbot 3D printers.
