LG Display has announced a new LCD panel designed to be integrated into computer monitors and featuring the world’s first integration of Intel WiDi. Intel WiDi technology supports the streaming of wireless video between computers and displays supporting the tech.
LG Display was able to design the WiDi packing display by integrating a key chipset directly into the LCD module. Integrating the technology means that users of computer monitors equipped with this LCD panel will have to use accessories to be able to stream wireless video between the screen and WiDi equipped notebooks.
The panel has a 23.8-inch viewable image and will be displayed at the 2013 Intel Developer Forum this week. “LG Display’s latest development brings us closer to the N-Screen era,” said Sang-Yeol Kim, Vice President of LG Display’s IT and Mobile Product Planning Division. “Through our close collaboration with Intel Corporation, we look forward to pioneering the age of wireless devices with our global partners.”
