Kirich Metals has taken to Kickstarter this week to launch its new range of 3D solid steel beasts, all of which are precision 3D laser cat from sheet steel. The solid steel beasts collection consists of a Fire Dragon, Frost Wyrm, Griffin, Tiger, Unicorn and Siberian Wolf. Pledges are now available from $25 for the early bird Siberian Wolf with worldwide shipping expected to take place during May 2019. the creator explains more about the inspiration behind the unique solid steel figures.
“I love doing projects with sheet steel. I noticed I had a bunch of scrap pieces I didn’t know what to do with. I was just going to recycle my pile of scrap, but it didn’t quite feel right because some pieces were pretty large. I’ve always have a love for mythical creatures and as I was staring at one of the sharper angled pieces, it struck me that it looked a lot like a dragon wing! After some tinkering that night with the laser cutter, I had a complete fire dragon.”
“I decided to make more: Fire Dragon, Frost Wyrm, Siberian Wolf, Griffin, Unicorn and Tiger were my favorite. (Yes there are more, but I wanted to start with my favorite designs). I even made every beast is adjustable and moveable, with joints at points of interest (legs, wings, etc). “
