The new iOS 12.4 beta was just released by Apple, now we have some speed tests of iOS 12.4 beta 3 vs iOS 12.3.1 .
In the video below we get to see both versions of Apple’s mobile OS run side by side on the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, iPhone 7 and iPhone 8.
If you want to see a specific device you can skip to 00.25 for the iPhone 5S, 11:06 for the iPhone 6, 19:55 for the iPhone 6S, 27.20 for the iPhone 7 and 33:48 for the iPhone 8.
As we can see from the video the iPhone 5S running the current iOS 12.3.1 software booted up faster, there were no improvements in the apps. With the iPhone 6 the device running the new beta booted up slightly faster, there were no speed improvements in the apps.
In the test of the iPhone 6S, the handset running the new iOS 12.4 beta 3 booted up slightly faster, there did not appear to be any improvements in the apps. The iPhone 7 running the current iOS 12.3.1 software booted up slightly faster, there were no improvements in the apps.
In the final test the iPhone 8 running the current iOS 12.3.1 software booted up slightly faster, there were no major speed improvements in the apps. It looks like iOS 12.4 will not bring any major speed improvements to the iPhone, this may change by the time the final version of the software is release which is expected in June.
