Adafruit has today announced the arrival of new Internet of Things hardware to its online store in the form of the Pycom WiPy 2.0 which provides a a tiny MicroPython enabled WiFi & Bluetooth IoT development platform.
Together with the Pycom Lopy 1.0 – Lora + WIFI + BLE microcontroller, Pycom Expansion Board and LoRa Antenna Kit.
Specifications for the Pycom Lopy 1.0 include :
• Powerful CPU, BLE and state of the art WiFi radio. 1KM Wifi Range
• Can also double up as a Nano LoRa gateway
• MicroPython enabled, the Linux of IoT for fast deployment
• Fits in a standard breadboard (with headers)
• Ultra-low power usage (850uA with the WiFi connection active): a fraction compared to other connected micro controllers
• 100% Python programmable
• Lots of GPIOs, interfaces and peripherals
• Hardware floating point acceleration
• Python multi-threading
Specifications for the Pycom Expansion Board 2.0 include :
• USB and LiPo battery powered
• FT234XD USB to serial converter
• LiPo battery charger (BQ24040 ), with options for 2 different charging currents (100mA and 450mA)
• TPS2115A with reverse voltage protection
• MicroSD card slot
• 2 female headers to easily plug in the WiPy 2.0, SiPy or the LoPy. This expansion board is not compatible with WiPy 1.0
• JST style battery connector
• Power LED and charge status LED
• 1 user LED and 1 user switch
• Battery voltage monitoring via the WiPy ADC
• Lots of jumpers to enable/disable features
• Dimensions: 65 x 50 x 12 mm
