It looks like Huawei has a new device in the works, the Huawei PhoPad, as the company has recently filed a trademark application for the device at the USPTO.
As yet there are no details on exactly what the Huawei PhoPad is, the device comes under the category of IC 009 at the USPTO, which covers mobile phones, smartphones and more.
The device may be similar to Huawei’s existing Phablet, the Huawei Ascend Mate, which has a 6 inch display, and Huawei could be calling this new device a PhoPad instead of a Phablet.
Of course there is another possibility that the PhoPad trademark may stand for Phone and Tablet, which would mean the device could be similar to the Asus Padfone.
It is possible that the Huawei PhoPad could be a smartphone with a tablet dock just like the Asus Padfone, of course this is just speculation at the moment.
We may see this new Huawei PhoPad announced at CES in January or possibly Mobile World Congress in February, as soon as we get some more details about the device, including some photos, we will let you guys know.
