The new Huawei P30 Pro smartphone was made official recently, the handset comes with some impressive specifications and now we have a torture test video of the new P30 Pro.
In the video below we get to see the new Huawei P30 Pro put through various tests, this includes a scratch test for the display, a burn test and a bend test, let’s see how the handset does.
Scratch Test
As we can see from the video, the new Huawei P30 Pro display scratches at level 6 and level 7 on the Mohs hardness scale. This is pretty much the same as all of the flagship smartphones on the market at the moment. The Mohs hardness scale is a qualitative scale that characterizes the scratch resistance of various minerals through the ability of harder materials to scratch softer materials. For context, level 6 indicates that the screen can be scratched by materials like steel, while level 7 means it can be scratched by materials like quartz. This level of scratch resistance is typical for modern smartphones, which often use Gorilla Glass or similar materials to protect their displays.
Burn Test
The handset also did OK on the burn test with no permanent damage. In this test, a flame is applied to the screen to see how it reacts to high temperatures. The P30 Pro’s display showed some temporary discoloration when exposed to the flame, but it quickly recovered once the heat source was removed. This indicates that the display is quite resilient to short-term exposure to high temperatures, which is a good sign for the durability of the device.
Bend Test
The P30 Pro was also fine in the bend test with no permanent damage. The bend test involves applying pressure to the device to see if it can withstand bending forces without breaking or deforming. The P30 Pro’s frame and construction held up well under this stress, demonstrating that the handset is robust and well-built. This is particularly important for users who might accidentally sit on their phone or carry it in a tight pocket.
Additional Features and Considerations
Beyond its durability, the Huawei P30 Pro boasts a range of impressive specifications. It features a 6.47-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, providing vibrant colors and deep blacks. The handset is powered by the Kirin 980 processor, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage, ensuring smooth performance and ample space for apps, photos, and videos.
One of the standout features of the P30 Pro is its camera system. It includes a quad-camera setup with a 40MP main sensor, a 20MP ultra-wide-angle lens, an 8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a TOF (Time of Flight) sensor for depth sensing. This versatile camera system allows users to capture stunning photos in various conditions, from wide landscapes to detailed close-ups.
The P30 Pro also supports fast charging and wireless charging, making it convenient for users who are always on the go. Its 4200mAh battery ensures long-lasting performance, so you can use your phone throughout the day without worrying about running out of power.
The Huawei P30 Pro not only offers impressive specifications and features but also demonstrates strong durability in various tests. Whether you’re concerned about scratches, heat, or bending, the P30 Pro is built to withstand everyday wear and tear. This makes it a reliable choice for users looking for a high-performance smartphone that can handle the rigors of daily use.
