HTC announced earlier this month that they would release the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the original HTC Desire by the end of the month, good news if you have been waiting for it as HTC has now released Android 2.3 Gingerbread for the Desire.
HTC have had removed a number of features, including the official Facebook app in order to get Android 2.3 Gingerbread running on the Desire, although this can still be downloaded from the Android Market.
The Android 2.3 Gingerbread update is available as a manual download from the HTC developers website, and the update is around 161 MB in size. Take a look and our article on Android vs iPhone to see which smartphone and mobile platform is best for you.
