Photographers searching for both a way to illuminate their subjects and also provide extra camera stabilisation, may be interested in a new combined ring light and gimbal aptly named HOOP created by the development team at GoLapse. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the HOOP light designed to both balance your camera and illuminate your scene.
Launched via Kickstarter this week HOOP is now available to early bird backers from $79 or roughly £63 with worldwide shipping expected to take place sometime around June 2019.
“Ring lights produce the beautiful soft shadows, which is why they’re desirable in so many types of videography and photography. It’s not just brighter than your on camera flash – everything behind the camera will look better too. While HOOP would be in a class of its own as a portable ring light, it’s the gravity gimbal functionality that makes it unique. Using the inertia of the camera and tunable dampers, your shot is kept centered and level regardless of how you are moving.”
“HOOP is the world’s first combined ring light and gravity gimbal. It automatically keeps your camera level and pointed where you want, while the powerful LED ring keeps your scene smoothly lit. Between HOOP Pro and HOOP Mini, you’ll be able to use any device from the smallest action camera to the biggest DSLR. You’ll finally be able to enjoy the action through your own eyes, while HOOP takes care of all the rest.”
