Businesses in need of professional video conferencing solution, but can’t afford high end prices, might be interested in a new starter company called Highfive, whose aim is to provide an affordable cloud-based video conferencing solution specifically designed for small to medium sized businesses.
Highfive has been created to make face-to-face communications affordable and accessible even for businesses, rather than using the already available budget service such as Skype and the like.
The Highfive system is equipped with 1080p video cameras together with a high fidelity microphone array and a wireless chipset. Priced at $799 the new video conferencing solution provides a much more affordable system when compared to typical installations, that can sometimes cost up to $20,000 per installation.
The start-up video conferencing system requires no remote controls or cables and automatically recognises when a user is in the room and would like to start a conference call to another party in a different room.
Currently before the Highfive system officially launches the development team is currently testing the system in 100 different locations and businesses including Shutterfly, HotelTonight, NxStage Medical, and Mimeo.Tech Crunch explains a little more :
“Beyond the $799 cost of each video conferencing camera, the service starts off as free for all users invited within a single organization. But the company is also looking to offer premium features that will cost $10 per active user per month. That includes custom branding for each organization, broadcast-style town halls, and single sign-on options for premium users.”
