We’ve come across a few rumors in the past, hinting that Google will discontinue the Nexus line up in favor of Android Silver devices, meaning that there will be no Nexus 6 this year. Even LG confirmed that they are not working a Nexus device, which added more weight to the rumor.
According to a new rumor, Google Nexus 6 may not be dead after all, and we may see Google launch a new Nexus 6 later this year. The report originates from Ausdroid, who are told by a source at Google working closely with the project.
The source mentioned it is very much in development, and may launch with a 5.5-inch display similar to the LG G3. There’s no word if the handset will be made by LG or if it will rock a QHD display. However, considering past Nexus smartphones, there’s a high probability that Google may launch it with top-of-the-line specifications, which includes a QHD display too.
The source didn’t reveal anything about the internals or the operating system, nor the manufacturer who’s given the task of producing the Nexus 6. The report further mentions that the alleged Nexus 6 may launch in October/November time frame, with rumors suggesting that Google may have asked to make it.
There’s no confirmation, and the statement from LG executive a few weeks back stating that they are not working on it, we suggest our readers to take it with a grain of salt. We’ll update you if we come across any other information.
