Since the release of the latest Google Glass XE8 update developers have been trawling through the code in the search of snippets that might reveal treats to come in further Google Glass updates.
Once such treat has been discovered in the Google Glass XE8 update that indicates Google might be rolling out support for Hangouts Chat to their next generation eyewear, and the features could be arriving sooner rather than later.
After examining the code within the latest Google Glass XE8 update several classes and services that are related to Google Hangouts Chat and have been added to the code to help monitor connectivity to the service and servers.
As well as managing presence with Google Hangouts using Google Glass together with group chats hinting that the required code is already within the Google Glass code to enable chatting with other contacts via Google Glass using Hangouts.
