Google has plans this month to announce a new SDK for Google Glass, the company is holding a hackathon on San Francisco later this month where they will show off the Glassware Development Kit.
There are already a small number of developers who are building apps for Google Glass, although Google is lookcing to expand the program with the launch of the Google Glass SDK.

Google Glass is still only available for developers, the company recently announced the new Google Glass 2, which will be given to existing developers in exchange for their current Google Glass device.
Google Glass is not commercially available as yet, Google is expected to launch a version of Google Glass for consumers in 2014, although there is no specific launch date as yet.

Wearable devices are expected to be the next big thing, many companies are concentrating on smart watches, Samsung and Sony already have devices on the market, Apple, LG and Google are also working on smart watches as well.
It will be interesting to see what happens when the Google Glass SDK is released, Google are obviously hoping to have a wide range of apps available for the platform before the commercial release of Google Glass.
