Google has today announced via a post on the Google+ community board that they have started rolling out the ability to create custom Google+ URLs.
Initially Google is only rolling out the new feature to a “limited set of verified profiles” but will be expanding the users base over time, to more brands and individuals
The new feature allows you to add a name at the end of google.com/+ such as google.com/+davidbeckham. Google explains a little more about the custom URL naming process:
“A custom URL is a short, easy to remember web address that links directly to your profile or page on Google+. For instance, +TOYOTA can now use google.com/+toyota to unveil their latest models, +Britney Spears can share her upcoming appearances at google.com/+britneyspears, +Ubisoft can share game trailers and videos at google.com/+assassinscreed, and +Delta can help travellers find great deals at google.com/+delta. “
