Last week we told you about the attempted hacking into the SIM cards of the largest SIM card manufacturer Gemalto, by UK and US spy agencies.
The company released a statement last week saying that they were looking into the alleged hacking, and now they have released another statement saying that their SIM cards are secure.
According to Gemalto it does not look like the alleged hack into their SIM cards was successful and they have said that they will continue to look into the matter.
Gemalto, the world leader in digital security, is devoting the necessary resources to investigate and understand the scope of such sophisticated techniques. Initial conclusions already indicate that Gemalto SIM products (as well as banking cards, passports and other products and platforms) are secure and the Company doesn’t expect to endure a significant financial prejudice.
It will be interesting to find out what they discover about the alleged hack by the various soy agencies.
