If any of your friend or family member is working for Motorola, you might get lucky enough and makes them send you a coupon code that entitles you a discount on the Moto X or the Moto G.
Motorola has started a “Friends with Moto” program that can help customers get a decent discount on the Moto X or the Moto G, if any of there relatives or friends work for the Google-owned company.
Under the program, customers can get a $50 discount on the Moto X , bringing its price down to $349 off-contract. On the other hand, if you interested it the Moto G, you could get a $40 discount on the 16GB model and $30 on the 8GB one, bring their price down to $159 and $149, respectively.
Here’s a statement given to Android Police by a Motorola spokesperson,
Motorola is proud of its products and wants to share them with friends and family. The Friends with Moto program was designed so every employee can give their friends discount codes for a Moto X at just $349 off-contract or a Moto G for $149 – 8GB/$159 – 16GB. Codes would be distributed at the employee’s discretion and timeline.
So, how does this work? Motorola employees are given a personal Friends With Moto URL they can share with a person who wants a discount. Once received by the buyer, he has to fill out the form with his details such as name, email, etc. Once submitted, this sends an email to the Motorola employee with the discount code, which he then sends to the person who wants to purchase the Moto X or the Moto G. Do note that it’s all up to the Motorola employee to send you the URL as well as the discount code.
The discount code is for one-time use only, and doesn’t apply to subsidy based models of the handset. Additionally, it must be carried out online, by adding the discount code at check out to avail the discount.
