If you were thinking about picking up the hottest Mustang that Ford has ever built, the 2015 Shelby GT350, you will have a very hard time finding one. Ford has confirmed the production numbers for 2015 GT350 cars and they are very small. Only 100 GT350 cars will be built as 2015 models.
The production numbers for the hotter Shelby GT350R will be even smaller with only 37 of those built in 2015. All of those models will be to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1965 Shelby GT350 competition model. Production for the 2015 GT350 will be split with 50 of the models being built with the Track Package and the other 50 getting the Technology Package.
Each of the 37 GT350R cars being built as 2015 models will be optioned identically. Exactly what options they will include is unknown. Each of the 2015 Shelby models will have a unique VIN sequence. After the initial 137 unit run, all remaining GT350 and GT350R cars will be 2016 models. The assumption is that if you really want a GT350 you will simply have to look for the more common 2016 model as there is no indication that production of the 2016 will be delayed.
