We know the new Ford Bronco has been in engineering in Australia since late last year. More details have surfaced about some of the off-road hardware that will be found in the new Bronco. The word came from axle and drivetrain component maker Dana with an announcement that it has won the contract for drivelines for the 2020 Bronco.
Dana’s statement notes that the Bronco will use the firm’s latest AdvanTEK gear technology. That means that the Bronco will have Dana solid axles front and rear, just as the category leading Jeep Wrangler does. It is sounding like off-road fans will have a serious Wrangler alternative when 2020 rolls around.
Ford has made no official statements on the new Bronco, but has stated that the vehicle will meet the needs of the most demanding off-road enthusiast. Ford discontinued the previous Bronco in 1996.
