PLA has become the standard 3D Printing filament that most filament 3D printers are capable of printing with by default, but if you are looking for something a little stronger a new 3D printing filament developed by Floreon.
The new Floreon filament is compatible with all PLA printers and has the same characteristics as PLA and is REACH, RoHS, and food packaging compliant.
The Floreon filament is a 1.75mm PLA filament offering a stiffness of 1.9GPa, a tolerance of .05mm. Technical director at Floreon, Andrew Gill explains :
We wanted to offer a high quality 3D printing filament that is far better than conventional PLA. It has taken us five years but I’m pleased to say all the hard work has paid off and we have found the resulting product gives a smooth printing experience with excellent interlayer adhesion and is less likely to break than conventional PLA.
In addition it is four times stronger and, with an excellent matt finish, the items it produces look very professional. All this is achieved without compromising the attractive aspects of PLA such as low odour and low print temperatures compared to other popular plastics used in 3D printing.
Floreon is a specially formulated compound, which is added to standard bioplastic, polylactic acid (PLA) to create an innovative material with a sustainable origin and a range of end of life options.
It has taken 5 years to develop our Floreon3D filament, it is a specially formulated and patented technology containing polylactic acid (PLA) and other top-secret ingredients that make it stronger, more flexible and easier to work with than standard PLA.
