In the United States alone over 500 million straws are used and discarded every single day. To help stem the horrific waste Emma Cohen and Miles Pepper have created the world’s first collapsible and reusable straw aptly named the FinalStraw. Which has already raised over $600,000 thanks to nearly 13,000 backers via Kickstarter. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the design of the compact FinalStraw reusable drinking straw.
Unfortunately plastic straws cannot be recycled and they do not decompose polluting both land and sea. The FinalStraw is now available to back via Kickstarter with early bird pledges available from just $20 and delivery expected to take place during November 2018.
“We are so excited about this project. We’ve had many sleepless nights making sure that everything is perfect. Still, we can’t foresee every problem so we’re committed to fixing any challenges that may arise during the fulfillment process.
Product Manufacturing : We’ve produced 200 samples that have been tested by friends and strangers alike. We will maintain constant communication with our manufacturer to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any challenges that arise.”
