Google Reader shutdown came as a shock for many internet users who relied on the application for latest news. One of the services that gained the most followers after Google Reader demise is Feedly. The company has dedicated applications for Android and iOS as well that allows users to get the latest scoops on their mobile devices as well as Feedly Cloud that is considered a Google Reader replacement for your browser.
Recently, Feedly updated its Android application to version 17 that brings some much-needed features, improvements and bug fixes. More details about the changes after the break.
The latest update fixed a the Feedly widget, which was broken since the company launched Feedly Cloud – after the demise of Google Reader. Additionally, the company mentions that the new application offers 300 times faster startup time compared the earlier versions. The application provides users with a smooth scrolling experience with better fonts and design. You can also search your feeds on your Android device, but it can only be used by Feedly Pro subscribers. The subscription costs $5 per month or a one-time $99 for the lifetime membership. Feedly now support Galaxy Gear smartwatch as well, considering that you have a handset that works with Galaxy Gear.

Feedly for Android v17 is submitted to the Google Play Store and is available for users worldwide. The company also announced that the application will be submitted to iOS App Store on Friday for review and will be available in the coming days.
