CSR has this week announced the launch of a new CSR10X0 Starter Development Kit which comes supplied with a full SDK for developing iOS and Android applications and can currently be loaded on PC, however Mac systems are also support via a virtual machine setup.
The Bluetooth CSR1012 smart application development board is equipped with 64KB of memory for program code and data and the included Bluetooth stack includes full support for the GATT (General ATTribute) profile and has 64KB of Rom.
“CSR has added the CSR1012 to the CSR µEnergy product family. The CSR1012 is a small package variant of the CSR1010 and offers the same functionality, but in a 4mm by 4mm QFN package. CSR has extended the applicability of the CSR µEnergy ICs by adding support for Li-poly batteries which are increasingly used in the design of rechargable products. The CSR1010 and CSR1012 ICs can be connected directly to up 4.4V supply voltage with no requirement for external regulators, reducing product size and complexity and maintaining high power efficiency. “
CSR have designed their CSR1012 board to run off a tiny lithium-polymer battery and is equipped with 12 digital IO ports for wiring up sensors and display devices.
The CSR1012 comes with the SDK on disc, and iOS and Android sample app code covering a wide variety of sensor types, display applications such as phone status and notifications, and Bluetooth proximity beacon operation and include a GUI-based development environment, xIDE.
