Digione, a smartphone maker from China is claiming that Apple’s new iPhone 6 infringes on their design for one of their smartphones, you can see the company’s handset in the photo below.
According to Macworld, Digione sent Apple a letter back in September, when the iPhone 6 was released, claiming that Apple’s design for their new smartphone infringes on their design.
The handset in question is a low end device that has a 5.5 inch display and an eight core MediaTek processor, the device comes with a modified version of Android.
The company apparently applied for their patent for this smartphone design back in January of this year, and were then granted the patent for it in July, before Apple’s iPhone 6 was made official.
It is normally Chinese vendors who are copying Apple’s devices, as we have seen various iPhone clones over the last few years, it will be interesting to see what happens.
