Earlier today we heard about Canon’s first mirrorless camera, the Canon EOS M, and now Canon has released a new promo video for the device, giving us a quick look at the new EOS M.
The Canon EOS M will come with an EF-22m F/W STM kit lens at launch, and the kit will retail for $799.99. In addition to the kit lens, Canon will also offer a variety of other lenses to cater to different photography needs, including wide-angle, macro, and telephoto lenses. This flexibility makes the EOS M a versatile choice for both amateur and professional photographers.
Key Features of the Canon EOS M
The Canon EOS M comes with an 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, which is known for its excellent image quality and low-light performance. The camera has an ISO range of 100-12800, expandable to 25600, allowing photographers to capture clear images even in challenging lighting conditions. This makes it an excellent choice for indoor photography, night scenes, and other low-light situations.
One of the standout features of the EOS M is its ability to record full HD video in 1080p. This is complemented by Canon’s DIGIC 5 image processor, which ensures smooth video recording and high-quality image processing. The camera also features a 3-inch touchscreen display, making it easy to navigate menus, adjust settings, and review photos and videos.
Additional Features and Accessories
In addition to its core features, the Canon EOS M offers several other functionalities that enhance the user experience. The camera supports continuous shooting at 4.3 frames per second, which is useful for capturing fast-moving subjects such as sports events or wildlife. It also includes a Hybrid CMOS AF system, which combines phase detection and contrast detection autofocus to provide fast and accurate focusing.
For those who are interested in expanding their photography skills, Canon offers a range of accessories for the EOS M. These include external flashes, remote controls, and various types of lens filters. The camera is also compatible with Canon’s EF and EF-S lenses through the use of an optional mount adapter, providing even more flexibility for photographers who already own Canon lenses.
The Canon EOS M is designed to be user-friendly, making it a great option for beginners who are transitioning from point-and-shoot cameras to more advanced systems. The touchscreen interface is intuitive, and the camera’s compact size makes it easy to carry around, whether you’re traveling or just exploring your local area.
