Yesterday the new BMW M4 GTS was announced. This track-focused version of the BMW M4 is being produced in limited numbers, and now we have a video of it in action.
In an official video from BMW below, we get to see the new M4 GTS on the track and also get to listen to the engine.
Performance and Specifications
The BMW M4 GTS comes with an impressive 500 horsepower and features a 3.0-liter straight-six engine. This powerful engine gives the car a top speed of 189.5 miles per hour and an acceleration time from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds. The M4 GTS is designed to be a high-performance vehicle, optimized for track use while still being street-legal.
One of the standout features of the M4 GTS is its water injection system, which helps to cool the engine and improve performance. This technology is borrowed from BMW’s racing experience and is a first for a production car. The water injection system allows the engine to run cooler, which in turn allows for higher boost pressures and more power.
Design and Features
The M4 GTS is not just about raw power; it also boasts a range of design features that enhance its performance and aesthetics. The car is equipped with a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) hood, roof, and adjustable front splitter, which help to reduce weight and improve aerodynamics. The rear wing is also made of CFRP and is adjustable, allowing drivers to fine-tune the car’s aerodynamics to suit different track conditions.
Inside, the M4 GTS features a roll cage, racing seats, and six-point harnesses, emphasizing its track-focused nature. The interior is stripped down to reduce weight, but it still includes essential features like air conditioning and a high-quality sound system, ensuring that it remains comfortable for everyday use.
The new M4 GTS will be shown off at the Tokyo Motor Show between the 30th of October and the 8th of November. Just 700 units of the M4 GTS will be made, and 300 are headed to the US. This limited production run makes the M4 GTS a highly sought-after vehicle among car enthusiasts and collectors.
In addition to its performance and design features, the M4 GTS also includes advanced technology such as adaptive LED headlights, a heads-up display, and BMW’s iDrive system with navigation. These features ensure that the M4 GTS is not only a high-performance machine but also a technologically advanced vehicle.
The M4 GTS represents the pinnacle of BMW’s M division, combining cutting-edge technology, high performance, and exclusive design. It is a testament to BMW’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in a production car.
