HTC One M8 tied to AT&T is expected to get a software update next week, but it’s not Lollipop, it’s Android 4.4.4 KitKat which will introduce VoLTE and the company’s latest Eye experience software.
The news came via HTC’s Mo Versi who revealed on Twitter that users should expect the update as early as next week.
Versi mentioned they received technical approval on Android 4.4.4 for AT&T’s HTC One M8 and will roll out the update over-the-air next week. The new Eye experience aims to improve the camera capabilities of the device, and introduces several exciting Face Fusion, Split Capture, Face Tracking and more.
With Face Fusion, users can merge two photos of different people and make it a one funny-looking image. Another interesting feature in the Eye software is the Screen Share which give users the ability to share what’s on their screen, and can be useful in teaching other people about the feature set of the HTC One M8 or anything.
The update may take a little while to roll out to all devices so don’t panic if you don’t get it right away. We’ll update you as soon as the process starts. Until then, keep an eye on your notifications if you’re using an AT&T branded HTC One M8.
