Apple is launching a new 16 inch MacBook Pro later this year, the device is expected in October along with some other new MacBooks.
The current range of MacBooks use Apple’s butterfly keyboard, this has suffered problems and Apple recently announced that they would be fixing the issue for free for anyone who had experienced it.
Now it looks like the 16 inch MacBook Pro will be one the first to switch to a new keyboard, instead of the butterfly design it will use the scissor mechanism which is considerably more durable.
The news of the new keyboard comes from respected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, you can see what he had to say about it below.
We have revised our prediction that the keyboard of the 16-inch MacBook Pro that will launch in 4Q19 will feature the scissor mechanism instead of the butterfly mechanism. The refresh versions of other MacBook models in 2020 will change to adopt the scissor mechanism keyboard, too. We estimate that shipments of MacBook models that choose scissor mechanism keyboards will reach 400k, 10mn, and 16mnunits, respectively.
As well as the new 16 inch MacBook we are also expecting to see another 13 inch MacBook and another MacBook Air, as soon as we get some more information on these devices, we will let you guys know.
