Yesterday at WWDC 2015 Apple announced their new Apple Watch OS 2, the announcement comes just six weeks after the launch of the Apple Watch.
Apple Watch OS 2 will bring some major new features to the Apple Watch and it will be released in the fall along with the new iOS 9.
Apple Watch OS 2 will bring a range of new watch faces to the Apple Watch, this will include a new Time-Lapse watch face which will show time lapse videos on your display. You will also be able to set one of your photos or even your photo albums as the display on the Apple Watch.
Another new feature is called Complications, this is a new watch face that will showcase a number of things on the display, including the calendar, information from apps and much more.
Apple has also announced a new feature for their Watch OS 2 called Time Travel, by turning the Digital Crown on the Apple Watch, you will be able to see things from your schedule later in the day and also what the weather will be like.
A major new feature in the Apple Watch OS 2 is native applications, the apps will be installed directly on the Apple Watch, this should make them faster and allow developers to add in more functions to the apps.
Apple is also updating some of their existing apps for the Apple Watch, this will include the mail app, you will now be able to reply to an email direct from your watch.
Apple announced that Apple Maps will get an update in iOS 9, this will bring Transit directions to the iPhone and iPad and these directions are also coming to the Apple Watch.
Siri is also getting a major update in iOS 9 and Apple Watch OS 2, this will bring more features to Siri on the Apple Watch.
Another new feature in the Watch OS 2 is additional security with Activation Lock, this works just like it does on the iPhone and it adds additional security to the Apple Watch.
