Apple apparently has plans to send its Apple Maps vehicles to the UK and Ireland to photograph streets for its mapping software.
Back in February we heard that Apple was looking to take on Google’s Street View by adding a similar service to Apple Maps, the new vehicle was spotted in the US earlier in the year.
According to a recent report by the Guardian, Apple is adding a new page to its maps website that will list vehicles that are collecting information for Apple Maps, you can see the page here, although there is nothing listed in the page as yet.
Apple will start out in London, and Birmingham in the UK and in Dublin and Cork in Ireland with their mapping vehicles.
As yet there are no details on when Apple will add their new street view like maps to Apple Maps, as soon as we get some more details, we will let you guys know.
