According to a recent report by the WSJ, Apple and Yahoo are in talks to bring deeper integration of Yahoo’s services to the iPhone and other iOS devices, and expand on the Yahoo services that are already available on iOS.
For example the finance and weather data on iOS is provided by Yahoo, and the two companies are looking to expand Yahoo’s integration into iOS, with possible content from Yahoo news and an expanded partnership on Siri.
There are no details as yet on exactly what the two companies have planned, although Apple have been trying to remove as much Google integration from iOS as they can, we saw this when Apple Maps replaced Google Maps on the iPhone and iPad.
Google Search still remains the default search on iOS, there are no details as yet on whether Apple is looking to replace Google Search, as soon as we get some more details we will let you guys know.
