Apple unveiled their new iPhone 7 smartphones yesterday and both handsets are powered by a new quad core processor, the Apple A10 Fusion.
According to Apple, the new A10 Fusion processor will provide significant performance improvements over the A9 processor.
This new mobile processor is 40% faster than the Apple A9 that is used in the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, although it comes with a total of four cores as opposed to two on the A9.
Two of the processing cores on the A10 are designed for high performance and the other two are designed for high efficiency. The A10 processor also comes with an Embedded M10 motion coprocessor.
We recently saw some benchmarks for Apple’s new processor before the handset was announced and they have suggested that the processor will give the new iPhones impressive performance. We will have more details about Apple’s new processor and how it performs when the new iPhone is released.
