Apogee has this week added a new addition to their range of headphone amps, in the form of the newly launched Apogee Groove USB DAC which is supported by both Mac and PC systems.
The Apogee Groove offers up to 24 bit / 192kHz audio and is equipped with ESS Sabre DAC and provides Constant Current Drive, Ultra-smooth frequency response for any headphones, says Apogee.
“Apogee Groove is the best portable USB DAC and headphone amp for listening to music on your Mac or PC. Groove takes the same high quality audio technology found in the world’s most prestigious recording studios and delivers it to your laptop. Connect Groove directly to your computer and connect your headphones or powered speakers directly to Groove. It’s that easy. You’ll be amazed by the difference in sound quality.
Groove’s Constant Current Drive™ output stage is a truly revolutionary approach to dealing with the wide impedance variations of headphones available on the market today. With Constant Current Drive topology, Groove’s output stage’s voltage is dynamically “molded” to the impedance variations of the connected headphones, thereby smoothing out frequency response non-linearity that occurs with traditional headphone outputs.”
For more information on the new Apogee Groove headphone amp jump over to the Apogee website for details ahead of the devices launch in Spring 2015, no details on pricing have yet been announced but as always we will keep you updated as and when they are.
