Yesterday, the latest Android 4.4 KitKat update started rolling out for the HTC One Google Play Edition. If you’re a proud owner of a Samsung Galaxy S4 GPE, there’s some good news for you. In a post on Google+, Google announced that the Google Play Edition of Samsung Galaxy S4 will join the HTC One for Android 4.4 KitKat sweetness. The update is rolling out and should hit your Samsung Galaxy S4 in the coming days over-the-air.

The update brings several new features including a restyled taskbar, improved multitasking, Hangouts integration with SMS/MMS and much more. The update notification should pop up on your handset any time now, but if you don’t see it, don’t worry as it takes some time for the update to reach all devices. You can also manually check for the update by going to Settings and check if the update is available on your handset
It’s interesting to see that Google Play Editions handsets are not the first ones after Nexus devices to get the taste of Android 4.4 KitKat, Motorola already rolled out the Android 4.4 KitKat update for its Moto X on AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile.
