Ouya have apparently recently received $10 million in investment from Alibaba to try and help the games console manufacturer becoming more a prominent name in the gaming world.
Unfortunately since its historic Kickstarter launch Ouya has failed to gain wide appeal and since the launch of the PS4 and Xbox One next-generation games consoles seems to have fallen out of favour. The Wall Street Journal explains that sources close to the company have explained that the two companies are planning to “incorporate Ouya’s software and library of more than 1,000 games into Alibaba’s set-top box”.
The new investment from Alibaba may help the games console manufacturer expand its market into China where gaming is primed for growth over the next few years and could help Ouya develop its console and platform even further.
