Sadly, it can’t fire lasers. Though it pretty much does everything else a board can, like go places. Powered by an 800 Watt electric engine and guided via a Kinect sensor that tracks hand movements, the Board of Awesomeness is a novelty one off from Chaotic Moon. They’re an app-building company who want to demonstrate their mobile-focus with, well, a mobile platform. The all-terrain wheels are a nice touch.
The battery powered BoA can reach a decent 32 mph and also has an embedded Windows 8 tablet for an interactive control panel. Sweet.
Turns out the BoA is more an experiment to garner attention at CES 2012 than a product-in-the-making. But who knows? Maybe Chaotic Moon will change its mind and make it available online. Or not.
