Yuneec better known for creating the world’s first commercial electric aircraft in the form of the GreenWing43. Is preparing to launch a new electric powered skateboard this year in the form of the Yuneec E-Go Cruiser.
The Yuneec E-Go Cruiser is fitted with a rechargeable power supply that is located underneath the main deck and between the two trucks and provides users with a range of around 30 km or 18 miles on a single charge.
The range of the skateboard has been increased when compared to other electric skateboards on the market, due to the inclusion of the electric-drive technology that has been designed by Yuneec’s aviation division.
The Yuneec E-Go Cruiser is also much lighter than its competitors weighing just 14lbs or 6.3 kg and is capable of supporting riders up to 100 kg or 220lbs in weight. The electric skateboard is powered by a ear-mounted 400-watt motor and is controlled using a wireless remote that is held in the hand with a sliding switch to increase or decrease acceleration.
On the board itself are a number of LED indicators to warn you of low batteries, and once flat the electric skateboard will take between 3 to 5 hours to fully charge with a cruising speed of around 12 mph or 20km/h when the board is in its sports mode. The Yuneec E-Go Cruiser is also equipped with an economy mode that helps extend its battery life but importantly reduces your cruising speed to around 7.5 mph.
Yuneec E-Go Cruiser electric powered skateboard will start shipping next month for $700. For more information on the new E-Go Cruiser jump over to the Yuneec website for details.
