According to a latest report, the Chinese manufacturer sold a whopping 150,000 smartphones of Xiaomi Mi3 in less than 10 minutes. The news was shared by Xiaomi on the company’s official Sina Weibo account.
This time, there’s another interesting thing; Xiaomi sold these 150,000 smartphones using Tencent’s WeChat messaging application, in 9 minutes and 55 seconds to be exact.

At the end of Q3 2013, WeChat is said to have 272 million active monthly users and the partnership between the messaging app and Xiaomi is turning out to be good, showing the potential of the application in the e-commerce platform, which in this case is selling a handful of devices in such a short time. The entire purchasing process, from reservation to purchasing it, everything took place within the application.
Last time when we heard about Xiaomi, the company managed to sell a record 380,000 handsets in less than three minutes on the Single’s Day sale, generating a revenue of a whopping RMB 300 million. At the sale, the company sold 110,000 Mi3 units, 110,000 HongMi units, 110,000 2S units and 50,000 set-top boxes. The current number is a little less than the ones sold at the Single’s day, but 100,000 is still a pretty decent sales figure, and that too under 10 minutes.
