Huami, Xiaomi’s ecosystem partner and developer of the Mi Band has created a new smartwatch and fitness tracking wearable in the form of the Amazfit which will soon be available to purchase priced at around $120.
The Amazfit has been designed to be a rugged wearable device and is fitted with a ceramic, scratch and water-resistant IP67 certified casing that supports standard 22 mm watch straps.
Fitted with a 1.34-inch display offering users a resolution of 300 x 300 pixels the Amazfit is powered by an unspecified 1.2GHz dual-core processor which is supported by 512 MB of RAM together with 4 GB of internal storage all powered by a 200mAh rechargeable battery. A full charge of the battery is capable of providing up to 35 hours using the GPS sensor or roughly 5 days when not using GPS.
Huami have added a wealth of sensors to the Amazfit enabling it to track your activity a heart rate sensor, NFC and a Bluetooth 4.0 LE and Wi-Fi connectivity. The smartwatch has been designed to connect to Xiaomi’s Mi Fit app on Android and iOS rather than use Google’s Android Wear operating system
