VW has rolled out the full production version of its new high-end Arteon sporty car. VW notes that the production car has minimal changes compared to the concept car. The vehicle is a four-door, five seater that has a very long 111.9-inch wheelbase for lots of room inside. The car is built on the VW MQB platform.
VW will offer the car with standard LED headlamps that merge with the grille and hood. There will be a total of six turbo engines offered including gas and diesel options with power ranging from 148hp up to 276hp. An R-Line version with custom touches outside and in will be offered.
The top of the line engines will feature a DSG dual-clutch transmission and 4Motion AWD as standard. The Arteon will sit above the Passat in the VW range. Production is slated for the Emden plant and the car will be available to purchase in Germany this June. Pricing and availability outside Germany is unannounced at this time.
