Volkswagen has reveled their new beach buggy concept at the Geneva Motor Show, the VW ID Buggy which is an electric vehicle.
The VW ID Buggy is powered by a 150 kW electric motor that produces 204 horsepower and the car comes with a modular design.
In the case of the ID. BUGGY, the lithium-ion battery supplies the 150 kW / 204 hp electric motor in the rear with power. An additional electric motor in the front axle would also be conceivable in order to implement all-wheel drive with an “electric cardan shaft”.
The body composite, produced in a mixed aluminum-steel-plastic construction, is self-supporting. Thanks to the modular design, the upper body area can be detached from the MEB chassis. A clear signal to small-series manufacturers and start-ups: Volkswagen is opening up with the ID. BUGGY concept as it once did in the past with external producers. The offer: On this basis you can build the emission-free Dune-Buggy of a new era.
