Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar Get Carbon Fiber and More Downforce

Volvo has announced that the 2018 Polestar S60 and V60 cars have some new aerodynamic bits that give them 30% more downforce than the previous generations offered. The aero bits are made from carbon fiber and only 1500 of them will be made for the 2018 model year.

Each of the 1500 models will get a number on the tread plate. The new carbon fiber aero bits include a new front splitter, side sills, and rear spoiler extension. The bits will help to increase grip and high-speed stability. Polestar says that many of these new components were developed and tested during Polestar Cyan Racing’s record setting Nurburgring test.

2018 versions also get high-gloss black Polestar diamond cut wheels, carbon fiber door mirror casings, and a new color called Bursting Blue metallic. The seats also have new upholstery and blue contrast stitching. The cars both have the 367 hp Drive-E engine promising 0-60 mph in 4.4 second and a top speed of 155 mph.
