It looks like Verizon intends to add a new $20 upgrade fee to existing customers who want a new smartphones from the 4th of April.
According to a document obtained by MacRumors, which you can see below, from Monday the 4th of April, Verizon will charge you $20 to upgrade your mobile phone, you can see the document below.
This will apparently also apply to people who are taking part in Apple’s new iPhone upgrade program, so if you intend to upgrade to the new iPhone SE, you may want to do this before Monday.
According to the document Verizon will charge the $20 upgrade fee at the poiunt of sale through their sales channel, if you buy the device on Verizon from another retailer it will apparently be added to you bill.
Verizon has yet to confirm this new $20 upgrade fee, although as it is supposed to come into force on Monday, we suspect they will make it official shortly.
