Samsung recently announced the US availability of their Galaxy S4 smartphone, and now we have some details on the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4. The device is set to launch in May.
Verizon announced the news on Twitter. Although they did not give a specific launch date for the device in May, we previously heard that the handset would land on Verizon on the 30th of May.
As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is powered by a quad-core 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor. It comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and features a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Key Features and Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S4 also comes with a 2,600 mAh battery, which is designed to provide ample power for a full day of use. The device also includes dual cameras: a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls and selfies, and a rear-facing 13-megapixel camera for high-quality photos and videos. The camera software includes features such as Dual Shot, which allows you to take photos and videos using both cameras simultaneously, and Drama Shot, which lets you capture a sequence of photos of a moving object and merge them into one dramatic picture.
In terms of storage, the Galaxy S4 offers a choice of 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of built-in storage. Additionally, it includes a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 64GB, providing plenty of space for apps, photos, videos, and other media.
Software and Additional Features
The Galaxy S4 runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which offers a smooth and responsive user experience. Samsung has also included its own TouchWiz interface, which adds a number of unique features and enhancements. One of the standout features is Smart Scroll, which allows you to scroll through web pages and emails without touching the screen, simply by tilting your head or the device. Another innovative feature is Air View, which lets you preview content such as emails, photos, and videos by hovering your finger over the screen.
The device also includes S Health, a comprehensive health and wellness app that tracks your steps, monitors your heart rate, and helps you manage your diet and exercise routines. With the addition of various sensors, including an accelerometer, gyroscope, and barometer, the Galaxy S4 is equipped to provide detailed and accurate health data.
We suspect that the 30th of May will be the actual launch date for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4. As soon as we get some confirmation from Verizon Wireless, we will let you guys know.
