Velocity Micro has announced a new computer designed to be installed in your living room that it promises to be much more than a home theater PC. While the machine will play all of your streaming media from the Internet, CDs, DVDs, or digital files it’s also up to the task of high-end gaming. Velocity Micro says that the machine will support full HD resolution gaming.
The computer also has integrated Cable Card functionality with DVR capability and supports the playback of Blu-ray discs. The available TV tuner inside supports up to four channel recording at one time and uses a Ceton InfiniTV TV tuner. The machine has up to 3.6 TB of storage space.
The machine can be fitted with multiple discrete graphics cards and has the capability of connecting to media extenders such as the Xbox 360. As you can guess, this machine is far from inexpensive with pricing starting at $1849. Graphics card options, RAM options, and processor options can drive the price up significantly.
