Over the weekend Twitter has rolled out new ways to discover products and places with the introduction of Twitter Product Pages and Collections.
The new layouts are currently being tested by Twitter and the first is a new way to organise relevant Tweets about products and places on dedicated pages.
The new Twitter pages feature images and video about a specific product together with information such as a description, price, as well as options to buy, book, or visit the products website. Twitter explains :
Take for example the book “The Martian” by @andyweirauthor. We’ll show you images and a description right above the Tweets that are most timely and relevant to you. These may be Tweets from accounts you follow, relevant news updates, or popular content about the book.
In addition to pages, we’re also beginning to test new ways for people and brands to create and share Twitter collections of products and places. You’ll be able to browse rich collections from influencers you care about and get more information about the products or places you find interesting. To give you an idea of what this experience is like, we’ve invited a group of curators to share collections of some of their favorite places and things.
