Samsung has some of the best alternatives to the iPad on the tablet market. The company has Android for the OS on its tablets and has a lot of people waiting for its smaller screen Thrive tablet to hit stores. We heard earlier this week that July 10 was the launch date. A forum admin over at Thrive Forums has already spied the Thrive in stores.
The admin went into a Best Buy store over the weekend to browse the gadgets on the shelves. The dude spied in the corner a Thrive tablet that was functioning and played with it for a bit. According to the guy the sales person at Best Buy said that the tablet was in stock and ready to sell right then.
The catch is that pre-orders are going for about $430 and in Best Buy the tablet was priced at $479.99. That makes the Thrive in stock right now much more expensive. Apparently, some stores had the 32GB version available for $579. I wonder if this was in all Best Buy stores early or if it was this one location in Austin, Texas.
