The sexily slim solid state drives created by Toshiba for the new Apple MacBook Air will now be available and offered to other companies wanting to use the slim technology in their own devices.
Blade X-gale SSDs that measure only 2.2mm in height will be available in either 64GB or 128GB capacities or a slightly large model for 256GB at 3.7 mm high and even share the same part numbers as the Apple components.
The new Toshiba SSD’s have a sequential read speed of 220MB/s, with max sequential write speed of 180MB/s and have been designed as expected for integration into space-sensitive products, including tablet PCs, laptops, mini-mobile and netbook PCs, Toshiba’s latest SSD offering helps these devices achieve a super slim profile.
